Nine California small businesses have been recognized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as Best in 2023.
Of these nine companies, seven are in the Greater Los Angeles area, one is in the Central Valley and another is in San Francisco.
Companies range from security technology to restaurants and family-owned auto repair businesses.
The Chamber annually publishes its “America’s Top Small Business Awards” to celebrate “pioneers of innovation, entrepreneurship and community engagement.”
Seventy companies have been chosen for 2023 and will be honored at a ceremony on October 19 in Washington DC.
The companies were chosen from a wide range of companies including companies from all 50 states across the country, as well as Puerto Rico and Washington DC.
The Chamber evaluated each business based on its growth, innovation, community engagement and ability to overcome challenges. Seven small businesses will ultimately be chosen as finalists, officials said.
U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Suzanne P. Clark called small businesses the “backbone” of the nation’s business ecosystem and said they represent the values of the American free enterprise system.
“They are the engines of economic growth and embody the innovation, entrepreneurship and determination that make America strong. We see it in everyone participating in this year’s America’s Top Small Business Awards,” Clark said. “The 15,000 inspiring small business applicants are a testament to the courage, creativity and unwavering commitment required to create jobs, strengthen communities and keep America running. »
