Greektown Chicago is celebrating Greek Independence Day throughout the month of March with a series of public programs. After a successful launch in 2021, the popular Greektown Restaurant Week returns March 1-7 with discounts and specials at restaurants throughout the neighborhood, including traditional Greek restaurants that have been in Greektown for decades. Throughout the month of March, the Greektown Shopper’s Reward program, from March 1-31, will offer a discount to customers who spend $200 or more at neighborhood businesses and submit qualifying receipts via email. The month ends with the Greek Heritage Parade on Sunday, March 26 at 2 p.m., celebrating Chicago’s rich Hellenic identity and culture.

Greektown Restaurant Week
Greektown Chicago is bringing back its popular Greektown Restaurant Week March 1-7, featuring specials and food from neighborhood restaurants. One example of a delicious deal is Artopolis Bakery and Café’s Artopita Happy Hour, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., March 1-7, which serves $6 pastries. Many more participating Restaurant Week businesses and specials will be announced soon, so stay tuned to GreektownChicago.org.

Greek Heritage Parade
To cap off the month of Greek Heritage Celebrations, Greektown is commemorating Greek Independence Day by hosting the Greek Heritage Parade the day after Greek National Day, Sunday, March 26 at 2 p.m. Presented by the Federation of Hellenic-American Organizations (ENOSIS) and sponsored by Greektown Special Service Area #16, the Greek Heritage Parade has become one of the largest annual events in Chicago’s Greek community since its founding in the 1960s. During this celebration, visitors can see colorful traditional costumes, watch traditional Greek music and dance performances, and watch the community officially celebrate Greek independence. Greektown Customer Reward
In commemoration of Greek Independence Day and in conjunction with Greek heritage celebrations taking place this month, Greektown Chicago encourages community members to support Greektown neighborhood businesses by shopping, dining, by purchasing gift cards and ordering takeout or delivery from restaurants and merchants.
As part of the Greektown Shopper’s Reward program, which runs March 1-31, customers who spend a minimum of $25 at at least three Greektown Chicago restaurants and merchants for a total of $200 (before tax and tip) are eligible to receive a $50 Visa gift card. Customers can receive up to two gift cards per household, while supplies last. Must include a valid receipt dated March 1, 2023 through March 31, 2023.
