On Sunday, March 26, 2023, the Archons of Metropolitan Chicago participated in the Greek Heritage Parade in the heart of Greektown Chicago. The United States Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic, George J. Tsunis, Archon Hypomnematografos, served as grand marshal of the parade. The Illinois Federation of American Hellenic Organizations (ENOSIS) presented the parade; its sponsor was Greektown Special Service Area #16, the area’s business improvement committee.

Before the parade, the Archons gathered at the National Hellenic Museum in Greektown for a preparatory event hosted by the Hellenic Museum. Chicago-area Greek-American clergy, community members and politicians also attended the event, including His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael of Chicago; His Grace, Bishop Timothy of Hexamilion; Paul Vallas, candidate for mayor of Chicago; Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias; Maria Pappas, Cook County Treasurer; and Commissioner Mariyana T. Spyropoulos for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.

The annual Chicago Greek Heritage Parade is one of the largest annual events for the Greek-American community in the Chicago area; this has been happening since the 1960s.
