Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that the success of Chandrayaan-3 does not belong only to India but belongs to all mankind.
Addressing scientists at the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Command Center in Bangalore just after arriving from an eventful tour of South Africa and Greece, Prime Minister Modi hailed their efforts for success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission and also announced that August 23 will henceforth be celebrated as “National Space Day” to mark the landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon.
The Prime Minister met and interacted with ISRO scientists involved in the Chandrayaan-3 mission and was also briefed on the findings and progress of the Chandrayaan-3 mission within the ISRO telemetry tracking and command network. ‘ISRO (ISTRAC).
A visibly moved prime minister said his impromptu plans to visit ISTRAC may have caused the scientists some inconvenience, but he was eager to personally salute the scientists for their diligence, dedication, courage, dedication and passion.
Prime Minister Modi said the achievement heralds India’s scientific power in infinite space.
“India is on the moon, our national pride is placed on the moon. This is India today, fearless and relentless. It is an India that thinks in new and unseen ways, one that goes into the dark zone and spreads light to the world. This India will provide solutions to the great problems of the world of the 21st century,” he said in his speech to ISRO scientists.
The prime minister said the moment of landing had become immortal in the nation’s consciousness. “The moment of landing is one of the most inspiring moments of this century. Every Indian considered this as their own victory,” he said.
“Our ‘Moon Lander’ has firmly set foot on the Moon like Angad… On one side there is the bravery of Vikram, then there is the bravery of Pragyan on the other. These are photos of never before seen parts of the moon and they were made by India. The whole world recognizes India’s scientific spirit, technology and temperament,” Prime Minister Modi added.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the mission’s explorations will open new doors of possibilities for each country’s lunar missions, as the mission will not only unlock the secrets of the Moon, but also help overcome challenges on Earth.
“The point where the Chandrayaan-3 lunar lander landed will henceforth be known as Shiv Shakti. In Shiv there is a resolution for the welfare of humanity and Shakti gives us the strength to realize those resolutions. This Shiv Shakti point of the moon also gives Kanyakumari a sense of connection to the Himalayas,” he said.
He also announced that the spot where Chandrayaan 2 left its footprints will now be called “Tiranga”. This point, the Prime Minister said, will serve as an inspiration for all India’s efforts and will remind us that failure is not the end.
He pointed out that India has not only become the fourth nation to successfully land on the surface of the Moon, but also the fifth largest economy in the world and is now among the top countries in the world whether trees or technology.
“In the move from third to first, institutions like our ISRO have played a huge role,” exclaimed the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister also gave a task to the young generation of the country.
“I want the new generation to come forward to scientifically prove the astronomical formulas contained in the scriptures of India and study them again. It is also important for our heritage and also for science. In a way, it is now a double responsibility for students in schools, colleges and universities. India’s treasure of scientific knowledge was buried, hidden during the long period of slavery. In this Azadi ka Amrit Kaal, we also have to explore this treasure, research about it and tell the world about it,” he said.
