Dimitri Vegas of the famous electronic duo Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike spoke with Markos Papadatos of HNA about Dino Warriors, his latest projects, his Greek origins and the defining moments of his career.
He spoke about the Alien Samurai Dino Warriors comic and the NFT project with the creators of the Batman Movie franchise hosted by the ENVOY Network. This project is aimed at genuine and long-forgotten fans of the niche cartoon series and gives them the opportunity to own a piece of their past.
“I’ve been working on Dino Warriors for a few years, and it’s been an incredible experience infusing it with all the NFT technology. I’m learning every day and it’s great to see a community grow so quickly around something, and it’s amazing,” he said.
“For me, it is essential to have a creative platform that focuses on the utility of Dino Warriors and NFTs, and that was the most important part,” he acknowledged. “The NFT is a utility and a key to a community around the “Dino Verse” that we are building.
“What makes it so interesting is that they are able to infuse a traditional property with NFTs and be able to create a very close community from day one. It felt like a great opportunity,” he added.

Regarding his future and acting plans, he said, “I actually just finished filming the first block of my first lead role. I will be shooting more in November. I also filmed a small role for “Jurassic World: Dominion”, which will be released next summer.
“I have a bunch of auditions lined up and a few projects in the works. I hope to be able to announce more soon,” he said.
On the title of the current chapter of his life, Vegas said: “The Soft Reboot.” “It’s been weird not touring for almost two years and being home a lot,” he said. “I never thought I would enjoy staying in one place for so long, especially in Belgium. I’m focusing a lot more on acting and producing content, plus I have a baby now… so going back to touring is definitely an interesting return to the “old ways” with a new mindset.
“Musically, I’m looking at what sound we’re going to lean into a little more. I’m looking to see what the next banger will be,” he added.
“I’m in Ibiza now, working on new music and new scripts,” he said. “I’m working on Dino Warriors and the Dino Warriors graphic novel. I love what I do so much that I consider everything in this same space. My hobby at the moment is giving milk to my baby.
Regarding the defining moments of his career, he said: “I see everything as a constant evolution. We didn’t get there overnight, it was a long process. I’ve been making music for a very long time. This has been instrumental for us to gradually progress in our careers and always be hungry for more.
Last year, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike placed #2 on the coveted DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs Poll. “It was great. We’ve been in this Top 2 for as long as I can remember, it’s great to be able to count on the support of our fans every year, and I hope this year again, I’m looking forward to the results”, – he declared.
Regarding his dream collaboration choices, Vegas responded, “There are so many great artists out there. For me it’s all about the song, and that’s been the same for all the featured artists we work with. We always approach it from a creative side. I still hope to work with many of them.
He was born Dimitri Thivaios, Vegas has spoken about his Greek heritage, which comes from his father’s side (his mother is Belgian). Their father is from Loutraki, which is located near Corinth, and they spent a lot of time there with their family when he was growing up.
“My heritage is from Greece and, coincidentally, I returned to my hometown after several years and fell in love with Loutraki again,” he said.
His grandparents are from Perachora, an inland settlement in the municipality of Loutraki-Perachora-Agioi Theodoroi, but for Vegas, Loutraki would always be his “Greek hometown”.
He defined the word success as “being satisfied with what you do and also that people like what you do.” “It’s a combination of both,” he said.
For his fans, he concluded about Alien Samurai Dino Warriors: “I hope I can create something in the next couple of years that my kid can hopefully enjoy as much as I do with all these things, and I I hope this becomes a piece of pop culture history, and hopefully one day it will inspire a new generation of kids to do their own projects. There is definitely a need for new creations and I hope to be a part of it.
