EY announces that 20 female founders in the United States and Canada have been selected for the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women™ North America 2022 class, including 9 Canadian entrepreneurs. “The economic ups and downs of the last year, coupled with the lingering impacts of the pandemic, have presented challenges for entrepreneurs, but it has also given them an opportunity to do what they do best: innovate,” declared Brenna Daloise, co-lead of EY Canada’s Winning Entrepreneurial Women program. “These pioneering entrepreneurs confront complexity, challenge conventional ways of thinking, and propose bold solutions to drive innovation across the economy. » The Class of 2022 includes 18 fast-growing companies, diverse in their missions and industries, but sharing the common thread of a focus on social good and sustainability issues, such as disability and workplace equity, specialized care, organic foods and recycling of environmental waste.
“From education and sustainability solutions to healthcare and wellness technology products, these Canadian pioneers are growing profitable, high-growth businesses from coast to coast, while innovating and excelling in their respective sectors,” adds Tiki Cheung, co-lead of EY Canada’s Winning Entrepreneurial Women program. “We are incredibly honored to share their stories and play a role in their journey to the top. »
Celebration of its 15th anniversary this year, the program identifies high-potential women entrepreneurs in Canada and the United States and provides them with access to the network, advisors and resources needed to help them grow their businesses and realize their full potential by as leading innovators in the market. Through this program, entrepreneurs become part of a global community of peers, which includes more than 800 winning women in 48 countries. Program participants are offered executive education and introductions to EY’s broad global entrepreneurial ecosystem, including alumni from the EY Entrepreneur of the Year® program and the EY Entrepreneur Access Network.
“By working together through the program, we can overcome the systematic gender barriers that women business owners often face, while building a more inclusive and prosperous society that inspires the next generation of entrepreneurs to break borders,” emphasizes Daloise.
