Representing the Hellenic Republic, Deputy Minister of Culture Christos Dimas spoke at the World Culture Forum held in Beijing on ties between Greece and China in the cultural field, ANA reports.
“Cultural relations between Greece and China have a long and rich history dating back to ancient times. It is remarkable that the relations between the two countries go back to the past, but it is also remarkable to see the importance of their contribution and their influence in the development of world culture,” Dimas emphasized.
The Beijing World Cultural Forum is a Chinese initiative that attracts culture and tourism professionals from many parts of the world. During his speech, the Deputy Minister of Culture declared that the Forum is an opportunity to “promote the importance of our cultural heritage, not only as an object of respect and admiration but also as a source of inspiration and point starting point for new cultural achievements.
The objective of the Greek delegation in Beijing is in particular the exchange of ideas and cultural practices between the two countries, as well as the promotion and greater extroversion of modern Greek culture.
He also stressed that the exchange of ideas and cultural practices between the two countries has enriched both cultures and contributed to the development of human civilization as a whole.
