Chicago, Illinois, July 24, 2023 – Now and Later® candies, with their bold flavors, tough to soft chew and long-lasting eating experience, recognize that with the hustle and bustle of everyday life, there is a benefit to taking a well-deserved break to care for yourself. self. In continued support of go-getters and change-makers in the black community, the brand is launching “Take a break now, move later” in partnership with media personality, entrepreneur and candy lover La La Anthony, to spotlight five emerging Black-owned businesses in the personal care space and to encourage fans to take a break NOW, so they can reset and recharge for their daily activity. Launching today in honor of International Self-Care Day, Now and Later and La La encourage everyone to take a break from their day for a moment of self-care. To help fans celebrate, La La revealed a hand-picked list of Black-owned personal care businesses offering products and services that can be added to any self-care routine.
As National Black Business Month approaches in August, Now and Later is also committing $50,000 in financial support to selected small businesses through the “Take a break now, move later” To agree. Each business will receive $10,000 which will help them fuel their business and continue their growth.
“As a mother and businesswoman, hustle is part of my daily life. I’m always on the move, but at the same time I need to pause and prioritize self-care so I can show up as my best self,” La La Anthony said. “One of my favorite ways to unwind is to enjoy a treat like Now and Later, and now I’m encouraging others to take a break while also shouting out some of my favorite Black-owned businesses.”

- Kimberly New York, is a niche perfume house offering artistic and long-lasting fragrances that are safe for sensitive skin.

‘“Take a break now, move later” is the latest way Now and Later remains true to its commitment to celebrating and amplifying Black voices through its #RecognizetheChew program. Through this program, the brand aims to encourage the next generation of changemakers who Champion, Hustle, Empower And Earn (CHEW) in their daily quest to improve their communities. Previously, the brand has partnered with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to celebrate and recognize leaders and entrepreneurs in the Black community. In 2021, the #RecognizeTheChew program donated financial grants to the Department of Mass Media Arts at Clark Atlanta University and the Cathy Hughes Schools of Communication at Howard University.
