The 7th Annual Hellenic Initiative (THI) Gala, held at the Dorchester on October 5, demonstrated the solidarity of the Greek diaspora with the Greek people in the wake of this summer’s devastating floods and wildfires , raising more than $300,000 – a record. Funds raised will support direct crisis relief and economic development in Greece and Cyprus, including continued support for young entrepreneurs and startups.
The sold-out gala was co-chaired by THI Board Member Nikos Stathopoulos, THI London Board Member Constantine M. Logothetis, and THI International Ambassador Princess Tatiana. The event brought together 410 guests and honored the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation, whose mission is to support a wide range of charitable activities, primarily in the places where the founder, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, lived and worked – in the Kingdom -United Kingdom, Greece and Cyprus. , and Monaco. The Hellenic Marine Environmental Protection Association (HELMEPA), whose mission is to increase the commitment of the Greek maritime community to pollution prevention, protection of the marine environment and safety at sea, was also honored.
