Stefanos Antypas, 34, a Greek social media consultant, had long dreamed of visiting Japan.
Growing up watching Akira Kurosawa and Masaki Kobayashi films and eventually being exposed to anime and Japanese food culture, this was always at the top of his list.
So when he came to Japan for the first time in October as part of a month-long event inviting digital nomads to Fukuoka Prefecture, he quickly decided he would return – not just for a visit or a quick vacation, but maybe for a few years.
