Jefferson City High School held its prom Saturday with an “Ancient Greece” theme.
Queen Abby Skiles and King Chase Schnieders were crowned Friday at the Marcullus Assembly. The king and queen were chosen through an interview process coordinated by a panel of former women of Marcullus’s court.

Queen Abby Jade Skiles is the daughter of Darla and Tom Skiles. Her high school activities include Dance Team, Jefferson City Riot, Chorale Choir and National Honor Society. Her high school awards include Entrepreneurship Scholarship B, Departmental Women’s Vocal Music Award, and 2021 All-State Choir. She plans to attend Moberly Area Community College to major in elementary education.
Rhakala Kimberly Blackmon is the daughter of Ashley and Romelle Blackmon. Her high school activities include varsity athletics, varsity volleyball, National Honor Society, Jefferson City Student Council, HOSA, and varsity basketball. Her high school accolades include Academic All-State, First Team All-District, Second Team All-Conference and state medalist in track. She plans to attend Central Methodist University to major in biology and minor in chemistry.
Jordan Yvonne Niermeyer is the daughter of Jennifer and Todd Niermeyer. Her high school activities include the Jefferson City High School Student Council, volleyball, Muffins and Ministry, and the National Honor Society. Her high school accolades include all-district volleyball teams, honorable mention and 2020 All-State Academic Award. She plans to attend Moberly Area Community College to major in psychology.
Ezinne Adaugo Opara is the daughter of Edith and Geoffrey Opara. His high school activities include speech and debate, wrestling, Jefferson City Student Council, HOSA, and varsity athletics. His high school accolades include academic excellence in athletics. She plans to take a year off and then attend Temple University to major in marketing.
Paige Elisabeth Reeser is the daughter of Becky and Ben Reeser. Her high school activities include volleyball, student council, Muffins and Ministry, and National Honor Society. Her high school accolades include Academic All-State, First Team Districts Volleyball and All-Conference for Volleyball. She plans to attend the University of Missouri to major in civil engineering.
King Chase Jordan Schnieders is the son of Kerry and Jason Schnieders. His high school activities include varsity football and varsity golf. His high school accolades include A+. He plans to attend Moberly Area Community College to major in vocational physical therapy.
Logan John Barger is the son of Mélanie and Keven Barger. His high school activities include varsity football, varsity track and field, and A+ tutoring for Jefferson City High School teacher Vincent Sabourin. His high school accolades include the Soccer Scholar Athlete Award and second team all-district soccer. He plans to attend William Woods University to major in middle school education.
Kole Anthony Kauffman is the son of Lisa and Tony Kauffman. His high school activities include varsity football and varsity athletics. His high school accolades include four Scholar Athlete Awards, the National Honor Society and the Honor Roll. He plans to attend Missouri State University to major in kinesiology or business.
Kobyn Donell Sands is the son of Ihimyonia and Jason Sands. His high school activities include college basketball. His high school accolades include varsity basketball captain of the Jays. He plans to attend Moberly Area Community College to major in occupational therapy.
Quinn Alexander Walker is the son of Debra and Cotton Walker. His high school activities include football, basketball, and 2021 Mr. JC Participant. His high school awards include Missouri Boys State, National Honor Society, and Jay Pride Award. He plans to attend the University of Missouri to major in engineering and computer science.
