The Boston and New England Greek Parade is scheduled for Sunday, April 7, 2024, as announced during the closing ceremony of the Federation of American Hellenic Societies of New England’s Vasilopita New Year’s Eve event at the Maliotis Cultural Center.
It should be noted that initially, the date of the parade was announced for Sunday April 21, but after further discussions and consultations between the organizers, it was definitively set for Sunday April 7. This was officially announced by the president of the Hellenic American Federation. The New England Societies, Vasilis Kafkas, and the official poster with announcements and detailed schedules were also distributed.
As usual, the parade will begin at 1 p.m. in front of the Boston Public Library and proceed down Boylston Street. On Sunday morning, following the Divine Liturgy, the official Doxology will be offered at the Cathedral of the Annunciation in Boston, presided over by Metropolitan Methodius of Boston, to commemorate the liberation of the Greek nation.

The formal dinner will be held at the Ithaki Restaurant, annex of the Holiday Inn Hotel in the town of Peabody, Massachusetts.
Other parade-related events, such as the annual celebration at the Massachusetts State House, will also take place. The Federation, which is responsible for organizing, coordinating and conducting the parade through its council and committees, is already working intensively in preparation for the parade and associated events.
On Saturday, March 2, at 10 a.m., at the Maliotis Cultural Center, a large meeting, more like a conference, will be held, convened by the Federation to discuss issues concerning the Federation and its reconstruction. All associations and societies, both those currently active within the Federation and those which have distanced themselves or become inactive, are invited. Anyone interested in the organized life of the Greek community is also welcome.
