    visit to the Greek consulate

The Pardee Alumni Council (PGC), the official graduate student organization of the Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies met with Ifigenia Kanara, the Greek Consul General in Boston, on November 16, 2016 for an in-depth discussion on topics including diplomatic careers.

Over coffee, the students and Kanara discussed current topics, including the refugee crisis and Greek-American relations as well as Kanara’s experience as a diplomat.

PGC’s visit to Kanara is the latest event this year in which the Pardee School graduate student community came together outside of the academic setting to socialize and build an upper-class identity. The PGC also organized a Thanksgiving Dinner for Graduate Students, hosted an election viewing party, were welcomed back to campus in the fall with a barbecue And First-year master’s students participated in a retreat in September aimed at fostering the graduate student community of the Pardee School.

The Pardee Graduate Council hosts a variety of activities to enrich student lives, including dinners with faculty members and social events. Each year during the spring semester, the Pardee Graduate Council hosts a graduate student conference, centered around a theme chosen by the students. The conference attracts graduate students from many colleges and universities in the Boston area and beyond. Learn more about the Pardee Graduate Council here.
