Incidents broke out Thursday afternoon between students and police at the Unknown Soldier Monument in Syntagma Square during a rally against a proposed law on private universities, ANA reports.
The students clashed with police, who pushed them back with their shields and made limited use of chemicals. The tension quickly calmed and the students left.
