BATON ROUGE – Sewing Down South’s Craig Conover was able to leverage his role on Bravo’s “Southern Charm” to turn his passion for sewing and interior design into a thriving business. Given Conover’s recent commercial success, he is set to release his first book, “Pillow Talk: What’s Wrong with my Sewing” next month. For the first stop on Conover’s book tour, he and his leadership team chose to visit LSU’s Business Education Complex to share lessons. on entrepreneurship with graduate students from LSU’s Flores MBA program.
In Conover’s book, he reveals the series of events, both on and off screen, that led to the creation of Sewing Down South, which, in its third year of existence, was successful to opening a physical store and entering into huge partnerships with Thomasville and HSN. Conover explains how he was able to turn his passion into work and reclaim the meaning of his life. Above all, he wants everyone to realize that they too can find the purpose and fulfillment they deserve.
“It’s important for me to share my experiences with these business-minded students. Many times, especially when we are young, we do not have enough confidence in our abilities and can easily become distracted from our future goals. When I became determined to make Sewing Down South a reality, I knew it was going to take a lot of work, but it’s what I always wanted to do. I want these students, and everyone who reads my book, to know that they have all the potential to make their dreams a reality at any age. »
