
The five-day B2B show, to be held from October 12 to 16, will feature home, fashion, lifestyle, textiles and furniture segments, among other attractions.
A celebration of the country’s vibrant cultural heritage, the fair aims to boost handicraft exports and domestic business by connecting businesses with buyers, wholesalers and retailers.
Organized by the Export Promotion Council of Handicrafts (EPCH) at the India Expo Center and Mart in Greater Noida, the event will be inaugurated on Thursday by the Union Minister of State for Textiles and Railways, Darshana V Jardosh.
The country recorded Rs 30,019.24 crore (US$ 3,728.47 million) in overall handicraft exports during the year 2022-23.
Between April 2021 and February 2022, India recorded over Rs 28,000 crore worth of handicraft exports.
It exported Rs 33,253 crore worth of goods in this category in 2021-22.
According to RK Verma, Executive Director, EPCH, “The overall handicraft exports during the year 2022-23 stood at Rs 30,019.24 crore (US$ 3,728.47 million). »
According to the organizers, buyers from more than 110 countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Spain, Norway, Greece, Italy, Sweden and Turkey, will participate in the show this year.
“The show will showcase an abundant diversity of products for different lifestyles and living spaces and will showcase housewares, home furnishings, furniture, gifts and decorations, lamps and lighting, Christmas decorations and party, etc,” said Dileep Baid, president of EPCH.
RK Verma, who is also the Chairman of India Exposition Mart Ltd (IEML), further added that there will be a renewed interest in sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle products.
“These are created with materials and processes that respect human and animal health as well as the environment and ecology.
Naresh Bothra, chairman of the IHGF Delhi Fair-Autumn 2023 hosting committee, said the furniture segment at the show has seen growth with more overseas markets for home and lifestyle products from ‘India.
“To cater to this section of buyers, exhibitors and manufacturers of furniture, wooden handicrafts and other related products from all major hubs and manufacturing centers like Saharipur, Bhopal, Moradabad, Delhi, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bareilly, Chennai, Mysore, Assam. , Sikkim, J&K, etc. will participate in the event. The highlight will be new media, sustainable products and innovative designs,” said Bothra.
Other highlights of the event include industry insights presented by domain experts on topics such as leveraging international multimodal transportation to optimize supply chains, design, trends and forecasts for fall/winter 2024.
