AUBURN, Ala. – Another school year means another Auburn gymnastics season! And as we prepare to launch the 2024 season in January, it is time to get to know the 10 new additions to the squad. The next step is junior Anna Hill!

Q: Why Auburn?
A: “I chose Auburn because I really felt at home here. Having transferred from another school, the culture of the team and coaching staff was something that was really important to me, and The immediate support I felt here was like no other. From the first phone call with the coaches before my visit, and everything in between, I was absolutely blown away by everything Auburn had to offer. I I knew right away that this was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up and I’m so blessed every day to be a part of the Auburn family!”
Q: What is your specialty and why did you choose it?
A: “I’m majoring in exercise science. I chose this because I always wanted to do something in the medical field after I finished school.
Q: What do you hope to do once you finish school?
A: “I hope to go to PA school to become a physician assistant. »
Q: What is your favorite thing about your hometown, what makes it unique?
A: “My favorite thing about my hometown is its proximity to the water. There are so many beautiful places to walk and explore. I also really love our sports teams and our crazy sports fans. Baltimore!”
Q: What is a typical day like in your life at Auburn?
A: “A typical day in my life at Auburn starts around 7 a.m. I wake up and get ready for the day, then head to an 8 a.m. class. I usually have one more class after that, then I eat lunch and go to treatment before. After training I usually do a little more treatment and then have dinner at Wellness. Then I come home, do some homework, take a shower and go to bed.”
Q: What is your favorite event and why?
A: “My favorite event is vault because I think it’s the most satisfying event to compete in!
Q: What are you most looking forward to here at Auburn?
A: “I’m really looking forward to competing with this team at Neville Arena. I think we definitely have something special to do and I can’t wait to compete in front of the best fans in gymnastics!!”
Q: How did you get into gymnastics?
A: “I started with ballet and soccer when I was younger, then my older sister wanted to try gymnastics classes, so of course I wanted to try gymnastics too.”
Q: What is your ritual before the meeting?
A: “I always use the same elastics in my hair at every competition and I have to have coffee the day of the competition.”
Q: What’s the coolest thing you’ve done in the last year?
A: “The coolest thing I did last year was go to the Preakness Stakes at my house and watch the horse race!”
Q: What’s at the top of your to-do list?
A: “I would love to visit Greece or the Maldives. Skydiving would also be fun! »
Q: Being a transfer, what excites you most about coming to Auburn?
A: “Coming to Auburn from a much smaller program, I am so excited about the gymnastics environment here and all the energy that surrounds Auburn athletics in general!”
Q: What is your favorite karaoke song?
A: “The go-to karaoke song is probably The Climb by Miley Cyrus.”
Q: What fashion trend do you hope never comes back?
A: “Low-rise jeans. »
