The Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship partners with the Alfred State College of Technology to offer graduates of its two-year certificate program the opportunity to pursue a bachelor’s degree.

The partnership offers Golisano graduates the opportunity to transfer up to 60 credits earned at the Golisano Institute to Alfred State’s Bachelor of Technology in Interdisciplinary Studies program.

Founded and fully funded by Tom Golisano, the Golisano Institute offers a tailored, two-year certificate program aimed at making premier business education accessible to everyone. The Institute will open its doors this fall to welcome its first class of students.

“My time at Alfred State has shaped two of my perspectives for the Institute: the importance of faculty mentoring and the value of real-world experiences,” Golisano said in a statement. “These experiences have influenced my trajectory and I am grateful to Alfred State.” It’s wonderful to see my past connected to the future of the Institute through this partnership.

The Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship offers a business-focused curriculum, integrated with local, regional and national employers and accessible to people of all ages looking to pursue a career in business or start a new business. Tuition for the two-year certificate program is $8,900 per year. Need-based financial aid is also available to eligible students.

Alfred State’s Bachelor of Technology in Interdisciplinary Studies program is designed to enable students to design and complete an interdisciplinary course of study in technological disciplines. The program will provide a pathway through which students can pursue specific career interests that cannot be accommodated in typical majors. With proper guidance, graduates are well prepared to enter and succeed in a wide range of technology careers.

“We are thrilled to partner with Tom and the Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship,” commented Alfred State President Steve Mauro. “Tom is a true pioneer and his name is synonymous with quality, innovation and success. We look forward to this partnership and the opportunity to offer students enrolled at the Golisano Institute a pathway to continue their education and earn their bachelor’s degree at Alfred State College.
