Mark your calendars for a weekend of joy and culture as the Greek Semaphore Festival returns with its cheerful theme, “Semaphore Smiles” (#sema4smiles). This vibrant celebration of Greek heritage and community spirit will take place on January 13 and 14 next year at the beautiful Semaphore Foreshore in Adelaide, South Australia.
The festival, now in its 43rd year, organized by the Greek Orthodox Nativity Community of
Christ, Port Adelaide & Surroundings, is a treasured event in South Africa. It brings together the best of Greek culture, from mouth-watering traditional cuisine to spectacular performances from some of Adelaide’s best Australian Greek talent.
“We are delighted to introduce ‘Semaphore Smiles’ as the theme of this year’s festival,” said President John
said Douvartzidis.
“This theme is a tribute not only to our rich Greek heritage, but it also reflects the joy and unity that radiates across our diverse South Australian community. From the tireless smiles of our dedicated volunteers to the sunny smiles that light up Semaphore in the summer, each smile is a symbol of our deep connection to culture and the joy it brings.
“We invite everyone to join us in this celebration, where every smile tells a story of community, culture and shared happiness. »
