In late 2019, the Baltimore County Public Library team launched what would become the Entrepreneur Academy, a seven-week intensive course that took aspiring entrepreneurs through every step of the business creation process – from from ideation to marketing to accounting.
The program was initially limited to 35 students who met weekly in person. But with more than 100 people on the waiting list, staff offered a new class as soon as the first ended. When classes went virtual in fall 2020, removing physical space limitations, some 200 people signed up.
