    Mitch Albom to headline Greater Naples Jewish Book Festival in December

    Best-selling author Mitch Albom will headline the Greater Naples Jewish Book Festival in early December.

    Albom, a longtime columnist for the Detroit Free Press, will kick off the book festival’s ninth season at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3 at the Nina Iser Jewish cultural center in Naples, 4720 Pine Ridge Road. The $40 admission price includes a copy of Albom’s latest book, “The Little Liar,” which will be released in November.

    The Detroit Free Press is part of the USA Today network, which also includes the Naples Daily News and the Fort Myers News-Press.

    The festival is designed to highlight books on Jewish subjects or written by Jewish authors and is held locally in cooperation with the Jewish Book Council, the oldest organization devoted exclusively to the support and celebration of Jewish literature.

    Mitch Albom wrote the best-selling memoir of all time

    Albom, an internationally renowned author, journalist, screenwriter, playwright, radio and television host, and musician, began his newspaper career in Fort Lauderdale before moving to Detroit, which remains his home.

    His books – including his 1997 work “Tuesday with Morrie,” which remains the best-selling memoir of all time – have collectively sold more than 40 million copies worldwide and have been published in 49 territories and 48 LANGUAGES.

    “The little liar“, Albom’s new novel, moves from a small village in Greece during the Holocaust to America, following the intertwined lives of three survivors “forever changed by the perils of deception and the grace of redemption.” .

    “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome an author of Mitch Albom’s caliber to kick off the 2023-24 series,” said Robin Mintz, book festival chair of the Jewish Federation of Greater Naples, sponsor of the local event .

    “After several years of virtual programming necessitated by the pandemic, Neapolitans can expect to sample a wide range of offerings – from historical fiction to a variety of non-fiction – from a group of talented writers ready to captivate our audience in person.”

    There is one exception: the British journalist Jonathan Freedland, whose “The escape artist: The Man Who Escaped from Auschwitz to Warn the World,” which won the 2023 National Jewish Book Award, will be broadcast virtually live from London, although the Naples component will remain in person.

    Festival patron opportunities are available for $136, $250 and $500 per person and include benefits such as pre-registration entry to each event and preferred seating at the $250 and $500 levels, in plus individual ticket sales.
