Compiled by the heritage group Europa Nostra and the European Investment Bank Institute, the seven most endangered species program has aimed since 2013 to protect European heritage under threat, whether from demolition and redevelopment, neglect, overexploitation or war. This year’s list suggests that the survival of some sites in their current form is by no means guaranteed.
