The Greek island of Paros in the Cyclades is a popular tourist destination during the summer season, when around 450,000 visitors flock to this picturesque island of 12,000 inhabitants. But the locals are exacerbated by this massive influx of tourists and the illegal privatization of certain beaches. Protests even broke out in Paros under the banner “Reclaim the beach”.
