    SCORE – Mentors for American Small Businesses

    WASHINGTON, October 10, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — SCORE, the nation’s largest network of volunteer and expert business mentors and resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration, today announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors , as well as new officers for the year 2024. financial year, starting on October 1st.     Rick Brimacomb is a speaker, advisor, investor, board member and business executive serving emerging and lower middle market companies. He founded Brimacomb & Associates in 2005, providing him with a platform to help business leaders refine their strategies, gather resources and secure financing. Leveraging his years as a venture capitalist, Rick helps business leaders create shareholder value. As an advisor and mentor, he inspires people to do things they never thought possible. Currently, Rick manages a portfolio of advisory clients, invests in private companies, and manages a platform of educational networks and groups that he founded/co-founded under the umbrella of Club E (Entrepreneur), The Network Connect, and Sagis Club.

    Ricardo Casas is a seasoned business leader, mentor and passionate volunteer, serving SCORE as Associate District Director for Southeast Florida, Porto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Additionally, he is a member of SCORE’s National Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisory Council, SCORE’s National Hispanic Steering Committee, and serves on several advisory boards for minority-owned small businesses. Prior to joining SCORE, Ricardo worked for over 20 years for ExxonMobil Corporation in leadership roles for projects around the world. He holds a master’s degree in management and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University Georgia Institute of Technologyand completed the Advanced Management Program at the Thunderbird School of Global Management.

    Steve R. Smith has extensive experience in large and small business entrepreneurship over more than 40 years at IBM and nine years at SCORE. As an IBM executive, he led teams that transformed IBM’s go-to-market approaches, including planning and execution, for the IBM Consulting Group. Steve lived on a mission Tokyo, Hong Kong And London, and has worked in more than 20 countries on various client consulting assignments. At SCORE, Steve served as a mentor and section leader, serving as chair of the Fairfield Connecticut chapter from 2019 to 2022. He received his undergraduate degree from University of Miami and his MBA from The Ohio State University.
