Study Abroad in Greece Through New GOA-Hellenic American University Partnership
The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and Hellenic American University announce their partnership with the mission of facilitating educational opportunities in the United States and Greece. A memorandum of understanding was signed on March 22sd, 2023, outlining the common scope that includes support of a Greek language initiative, Hellas Alive, and the development of study abroad, civic engagement, faculty and student exchange opportunities. Specifically, study abroad programs include semester or quarterly options and personalized, faculty-led programs focusing on several aspects of Greek culture, religion, and heritage.
Hellenic American University is a nonprofit institution of higher education chartered in the State of New Hampshire by legislative act in 2004 and accredited by the New England Commission on Higher Education (NECHE). It offers academic programs ranging from associate level to doctorate level. and is licensed and regulated by the New Hampshire Department of Education, Division of Higher Education, Commission on Higher Education. The programs are offered at two locations, in Nashua, New Hampshire, USA, and in Greece through the Hellenic American College.
As a first step in establishing this partnership, Hellenic American University had the privilege of attending and participating in the 46th Annual Dance of Faith Fellowship (FDF) held by the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. Professor and Director of Business Programs Panagiote (Pete) Tsolis was in attendance and led a workshop for high school and college students. In collaboration with the university, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros was pleased to announce that the Archdiocese will offer ten scholarships to members of the Greek-American community to study in Athens.
