The Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA) and the Greek National Tourist Office (GNTO) signed a memorandum on Tuesday for a comprehensive program to promote and publicize Greece abroad, reports the ANA.
The memorandum was signed by ANA-MPA President and CEO Aimilios Perdikaris and GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis.
Among the topics included in the agreement are the promotion of Greece in the tourism sector, the promotion of GNTO actions and the creation of targeted promotional actions for specific destinations or thematic (niche) tourism, as well as the organization of joint ANA-MPA and GNTO events. This also includes the promotion of specific articles of tourism interest by ANA-MPA to news agencies abroad.
In a statement at the event, Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni said: “The Athenian-Macedonian News Agency, whose history spans more than a century, is one of the leading providers of reports and information broadcasts, dedicated to the principles of objectivity and reliability, both nationally and internationally. We hope that the Memorandum of Understanding signed by ANA-MPA and GNTO, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Tourism, will provide new dynamics to the Greek tourism product, promotion and publicity of Greek tourism. tourism, and highlighting the issues linked to the tourism development of our country on a global scale.
The ANA-MPA “has entered a phase of extroversion and invests mainly in collaborations with agencies from which it can benefit and at the same time offer what its networks can offer in Greece and abroad: the reproduction of information, given that it constitutes a primary source of information for the Greek and international news media,” emphasized the agency’s Perdikaris.
At the same time, Perdikaris added: “We could not not make tourism one of our fundamental priorities. It is for this reason that we have concluded a specific agreement with the GNTO and the Ministry of Tourism, because the promotion of Greece through its tourism product and through the ANA-MPA networks constitutes a very important step forward , which will bring very significant results to the two agencies collaborating for this purpose.
Speaking on behalf of the GNTO, Secretary General Fragakis said: “Today we usher in a new era of collaboration between the GNTO, the Ministry of Tourism and the ANA-MPA. This is a collaboration we’ve been working on for a long time now. we signed the collaboration protocol and are very happy to work with one of the most important news agencies in Greece and mainly abroad.
