Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias was welcomed by his Paraguayan counterpart Julio César Arriola in Asunción, in the presence of Deputy Foreign Ministers Raúl Silvero Silvano and Enrique Franco, he said in a tweet on Thursday.
Dendias said he had with them a constructive discussion on bilateral relations, regional and international affairs, Paraguay-EU relations, Greece’s candidacy for non-temporary member of the UN Security Council in 2025- 2026, economy and investments, energy and renewable energy sources, and culture, including UNESCO, reports ANA.
The Greek minister concludes a tour of six countries in Central and North America, which began on February 6, with a visit to Panama and Jamaica on Friday February 10. He has already visited Brazil (February 6), Uruguay (February 7) and Argentina (February 8). With the exception of Panama, this was the first ever visit by a Greek foreign minister to these countries, and he was expected to sign a series of bilateral memorandums of understanding in several countries.
