“The United States realizes who the reliable regional actor is,” Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis said in an interview with Skai TV on Saturday, referring to today’s meeting between Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Chania, Crete. ANA Reports.
He noted that it was only a matter of time before Greece joined the F-35 program and stressed that Greek-US relations “have reached their peak.”
As he said, the discussion between Mitsotakis and Blinken in the afternoon will focus on two axes: international developments regarding the two wars in our neighborhood. In both cases, he stressed, there is a serious risk of expansion of hostilities, particularly in the Middle East. Discussions will also focus on bilateral relations, including issues of energy and defense cooperation, including the supply of F-35s.
