The stand of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) received the “Best Decoration Award” at an international tourism fair held in Mumbai from February 8 to 10, reports ANA.
After a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic, GNTO’s participation in the outbound travel market (OTM 2024) underlined Greece’s commitment to a strong return to the global tourism scene. The agency highlighted the country’s rich cultural heritage, unique destinations and the diversity of tourism experiences that Greece can offer to travelers from around the world, with a particular focus on the emerging market of India.
During the exhibition, numerous meetings took place with tourism and travel agencies, all of whom showed a keen interest in Greece, particularly for the organization of weddings, and for film production, particularly in collaboration with Indian influencers.
The importance of speeding up the issuance of visas and facilitating direct air links between the two countries was highlighted during these meetings.
The GNTO has targeted India as one of the critical markets for tourism expansion, while following high-level discussions between the prime ministers of the two countries in August 2023, more concerted efforts have been made to strengthen economic and tourism ties and promote cultural exchanges between Greece and India. India.
The ‘Best Decoration Award’ was presented on the last day of the fair by Rajasthan Tourism Minister Diya Kumari, who had visited the booth earlier along with the fair organizers.
