“Today we are taking the last important step so that we can finally deliver the Thessaloniki Metro, fully operational, by 2024,” Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in Thessaloniki on Wednesday, during the signing of a contract in Agia Sofia metro station. for the operation and maintenance of the city’s metro system, ANA reports.
The Prime Minister visited the station, including its archaeological site. He stressed that this marked the culmination of a “bold decision” taken by previous leaders of the Ministry of Transport to “use private know-how, the best at European level” to ensure “unhindered operation and sure of this very important infrastructure project” and to have “both a metro and antiques”.
