The retail sector’s performance and turnover for 2023 peaks during the current holiday season, where it is expected to exceed 4 billion in December alone, it was reported on Saturday, according to the ANA.
With a tentative opening time of 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for most stores, extended to 8:00 p.m. for larger franchises and shopping centers, every day so far this week, with the exception of Sunday, New Year’s Eve Year, where stores will close earlier at 6:00 p.m., the Greek retail sector is expected to exceed 3.8 billion euros in turnover by 2022. Clothing, shoes, toys, personal beauty products and electronic devices , small and large, seem to be the most popular choices for a new year in 2023.
Specifically, the quarterly turnover of very small commercial enterprises increased by 2%, while that of medium-sized enterprises increased by more than 4%, according to retail sector data published by ELSTAT, l Greek Statistics Agency.
