Those who suffered damage from the wildfires will be immediately compensated, while civil protection conditions will “constantly improve”, State Minister Makis Voridis said in an interview with ANT1 TV on Tuesday. Given the extent of the fire front and the very difficult conditions, he noted, there was “mobilization and management of the situation”, reports ANA.
He also indicated the need for better supervision and highlighted the responsibilities of local authorities. “The major qualitative change after Mati is the emergency number 112,” Voridis added, emphasizing that “our priority is the protection of human life.”
