Traffic restrictions will be introduced in Athens for parades celebrating Greek Independence Day (March 25), Hellenic police announced on Wednesday, ANA reports.
On Friday, stopping and parking will be prohibited from 6:00 a.m. and progressive stops from 10:00 a.m., while on Saturday all traffic activities will be suspended from 06:00 a.m. Restrictions will be lifted shortly after the parades end.
Affected streets include those around Syntagma Square, the main and secondary streets leading to the square and downtown Athens, up to Syngrou Avenue and the Lycabettus area.
Means of mass transportation will also be affected.
