NEW YORK, NY – Deputy Senate Leader Michael Gianaris participated in the annual Greek Independence Day festivities in New York this weekend. The event capped ongoing celebrations, including the passage of a resolution for Greek History Month in New York State and the visit of Archbishop Elpidophoros to the State Capitol.
“As the son of Greek immigrants, the Greek-American experience is very close to my heart,” said Deputy Senate Leader Michael Gianaris. “This is the perfect time to recognize the sacrifices of those who came before us and to celebrate the Hellenic values that have influenced the rest of the world.”
