Florida State University alumni, students, parents and friends will come together to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Homecoming Friday, October 13 through Sunday, October 22.
With the theme “Light Up Your Legacy,” in-person festivities include alumni events, a street parade and the annual Homecoming Live pep rally. The festivities culminate with FSU’s homecoming game against Duke on Oct. 21, during which the 2023 Homecoming Leader and Princess will be revealed.

FRIDAY OCTOBER 13
A cherished FSU tradition, Chalk on Legacy Walk kicks off Homecoming festivities and allows Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) to create a space on Legacy Walk that highlights their organization and the Homecoming theme. Banners painted by each participating RSO will be hung around the student union.
MONDAY OCTOBER 16
Beginning at 7 p.m., Spirit Night is a talent show that showcases the diverse talents of the FSU student body as well as a “friendly spirit competition.” FSU students are encouraged to adorn themselves in garnet and gold. Refreshments and exclusive back-to-school products will be available.
TUESDAY OCTOBER. 17
The FSU Homecoming Council is bringing a new tradition to Homecoming with a new event, the Garnet & Gold Jamboree. This event, which takes place in the Student Union ballrooms from 2 to 5 p.m., puts a new spin on the jamboree concept, giving music and dance organizations on campus the opportunity to perform and teach. After attending the shows, students can join in the fun by taking classes or participating in jam sessions on the dance floor. They will also learn about opportunities to serve and give back.
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER. 18
The Homecoming Festival will feature thrill rides, food, exclusive homecoming merchandise and the opportunity to meet with Student Government Association agencies and learn about involvement opportunities on campus. Join the celebration from 1-5 p.m. on Landis Green.
THURSDAY OCTOBER. 19
- A college tradition, Odds & Evens is a unique combination of past Homecoming Week events, featuring casual and structured games such as dodgeball, kickball, soccer and flag football on the main campus fields from 5 p.m. At 20 o ‘clock. The event will also include playground lessons, refreshments and exclusive homecoming merchandise.
- Join the National Panhellenic Council in the Union Ballrooms at 7 p.m. for an exciting performance from FSU’s historically African-American Greek-letter organizations. For more information about the NPHC Extrav Homecoming Step Show, visit fsunphc.com.
FRIDAY OCTOBER 20
- The annual Homecoming Parade, organized by the Alumni Association, will begin at 2 p.m. Spectators will also be able to attend a pre-parade festival with food and games at Westcott Plaza from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The parade will head north along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, turn west along College Avenue, then south on Copeland Street. Robert O. Lawton Distinguished Professor Maxine Montgomery will serve as grand marshal. The parade features the Marching Chiefs, FSU cheerleaders and floats made by student organizations. As a virtual option, the event will be broadcast live on facebook.com/fsualumniassociation.
- The Florida State University Alumni Awards will celebrate the notable achievements of FSU alumni and will take place at 6 p.m. at the Dunlap Champions Club. The event will honor Reubin O’D recipients. Askew Prize, Inspire, Circle of Gold and Bernard F. Sliger. For more details and event registration, visit gonol.es/FSUAlumniAwards.
- Homecoming Live is a pep rally featuring several student groups and musical artists. Bryce Vine will headline the event. Bryce Vine presents a sound all his own, between East Coast and West Coast, drawn in equal parts from the influence of his father’s bass-heavy reality rap, his mother’s glossy pop sensibility, and a childhood spent between Free tickets to New York and Los Angeles will be available for FSU students, with general admission tickets for the public. - FSU National Black Alumni will host their Homecoming Weekend, which includes their Board of Trustees meeting, awards, scholarship ceremony and much more. The weekend of events aims to unify black alumni from every decade, from every college, school and Greek-letter organization, and connect them with current students and other constituent groups. - The Emeriti Alumni Society kicks off its annual Homecoming Weekend, which includes a welcome luncheon, campus bus tours, special parade seating, an induction brunch and an awards ceremony celebrating the classes FSU from 1972 and 1973. - The Young Alumni Network will host a reunion weekend to connect alumni aged 35 and under and allow them to network with other young professionals. SATURDAY OCTOBER 21
- The reunion breakfast will celebrate the 2023 Grads Made Good Award winners at 9 a.m. in the Alumni Center. This award recognizes alumni who have made a significant difference through exceptional success in their field. The event will also honor past Homecoming Chiefs, Queens and Princesses. - Join the FSU Pride Alumni Network for a homecoming tailgate. Meet the board, interact with other Noles, and get ready for game day! The tailgate will feature refreshments and hearty appetizers and will take place three hours before kickoff. For more details and event registration, visit gonol.es/PrideTailgate.
- Current students are invited to the Garnet and Gold Tailgate, hosted by the Homecoming Council and Student Engagement. This free event will take place at Union Plaza with lawn games, food and merchandise. The 75th Homecoming calls for a Garnet & Gold celebration tailgate that will set the scene for Doak Campbell Stadium. The tailgate will begin three hours before kickoff and conclude one hour before the game begins.

The Homecoming Executive Council is made up of students who plan events each year for the FSU campus and community. Each position on the board helps coordinate events, which involves working with volunteers and student groups, managing communications and seeking sponsorships. The Homecoming Celebration consists of a week of on-campus events, including but not limited to the Homecoming Live Pep Rally, Homecoming Carnival, Odds and Peers, and the Garnet and Gold Tailgate. The Alumni Association leads the efforts for the parade and elections for leader and princess. The week ends with the Homecoming football game at Doak Campbell Stadium.
