Detailed results and methodology: The 2023 Most Influential Countries Ranking is based on a global perception-based survey, and countries are ranked based on the highest scores among more than 320,000 experts, including politicians and business leaders , in a compilation of 11 attributes of the country: military power, strong international alliances; the country’s respected leaders; international trade and travel; economic power; the culture of the country; diplomatic influence; global diaspora; media influence; be useful to other countries in need; and how connected these countries are to the rest of the world. The survey was conducted between June 2023 and August 2023, gathering over 320,000 responses. Each attribute was rated on a scale of 1 to 100.
Detailed survey data and information collected directly from 320,000 people, across 11 data points. Experts, including politicians, business leaders, international business leaders and policy experts, were asked to rate countries on a scale of 1 “marginal” to 100 “outstanding” or ” do not know “. The margin of sampling error for the full sample of 320,000 respondents is plus or minus 1.2 percentage points.
