Criminal gangs behind a rise in bombings and shootings in Sweden in recent years are using fake Spotify streams make fake money, a Swedish newspaper reported earlier this month. From a report: Criminal networks have for several years used money from drug trafficking, theft, fraud and contract killings to pay for fake Spotify streams of songs released by gang-linked artists, according to a Svenska investigative report Dagbladet. They are then paid by the platform for the high number of streams, thereby laundering the money. The newspaper said its information was confirmed by four gang members from different Stockholm crime networks, as well as an anonymous police investigator.
