International arrivals at Thessaloniki “Makedonia” Airport recorded a significant increase compared to 2022, while the tourist season opened earlier for cruises to Thessaloniki this year and the outlook is very encouraging for 2024, announced Deputy Minister of Tourism Elena Rapti in an online intervention. during a conference organized by the Regional Union of Municipalities of Central Macedonia within the framework of the 32nd business and economic forum “Money Show” held in Thessaloniki, reports ANA.
Rapti said that in the first 11 months of 2023, from January to November, there was a significant increase in travel revenue which reached 14.5 percent or 20 billion euros.
She also discussed the new strategy of the Ministry of Tourism with a detailed action plan and specific objectives such as the sustainability of tourist destinations, and their promotion which will be carried out through targeted interventions which will contribute to the extension of the tourist season throughout the country throughout the year. .
“We aim to strengthen cooperation between central administration, local administration and private initiative,” she stressed.
