Greek Minister of Migration and Asylum Dimitris Kairidis met with Ukrainian Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleh Nemchinov on Friday, ANA reports.
The Greek minister was briefed on the situation in Ukraine and, after expressing Greece’s support for the struggle of the Ukrainian people, he presented in detail the policy of the Greek government regarding the temporary protection of Ukrainian citizens currently in Greece.
The total number of Ukrainians registered under temporary protection is 27,000, but the total number of Ukrainians in Greece is much higher. 4,500 Ukrainians of all ages participated in the Ministry of Migration and Asylum’s “HELIOS” integration program, which provides housing allowance, Greek lessons, as well as vocational training and healthcare.
