    Enterprise Greece, the national trade and investment agency of the Greek state, is the subject of a detailed article on the Total Food Service website.

    Business Greece is under the supervision of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs and aims to help “both the country diversify into global markets and the international consumer have easier access to Greek products.”

    The article adds that “the unification of Invest in Greece and Hellenic Export Promotion Organization, Enterprise Greece has boosted the growth of Greek products among international catering and food service operators and consumers.”

    It is also noted that “Greek business prioritizes foreign direct investment, and investors in the food and beverage industry make up a large part of this group. With the aim of promoting Greek trade with the rest of the world, Enterprise Greece promotes the healthy, high-quality products that Greece is known for, available to a wider range of consumers than ever before. They achieve this through a combination of networking (including participation in trade shows and trade missions), information and consultation with producers and distributors, and education.

    Focusing on “what makes Greek food special is at the heart of Enterprise Greece’s mission – they want to tell the story of the products. Greece’s temperate climate and fertile terrain allow a wide range of fruits and vegetables to be grown on the peninsula, and their access to the coast provides an abundance of fish and seafood. With the growing popularity of the Mediterranean diet over the Over the past decade, chefs and individual consumers have begun purchasing more olive oils, whole grains, fish, and fresh fruits and vegetables, many of which come from Greece,” the article continues.

    “The rise of the Mediterranean diet is making Greek products in high demand “and Greek foods are poised to have a big impact on international markets,” the article states.
