European Union assistance to Greece for operations to fight numerous forest fires has been significantly boosted with the addition of firefighters from four more countries, it was reported Tuesday evening, ANA reports .
After a second request from the Greek Civil Protection Authority to the EU Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM), Germany sent 2 Air Tractor planes (landed in Greece on Tuesday), Sweden sent 2 more Air Tractor (also landed), Croatia sent a CL-415 water bomber landed, while a Blackhawk helicopter sent by the Czech Republic is expected to land in Greece on Wednesday evening.
