The Greek Ministry of Culture announced Thursday the repatriation of two antiquities from Switzerland to Greece on January 23, reports ANA.
According to a press release from the ministry, two antiquities illegally taken out of Greek territory on an unknown date were repatriated from Bern. These are:
– A stone inscription fragment (0.186mx 0.169mx 0.086m) of which five verses with main names are partially preserved. The inscription dates from the Hellenistic period (late 3rd – early 2nd century BCE) and is believed to come from the island of Kos.
– A fragment of an Ionic marble capital (0.228 mx 0.228 mx 0.17 m), dating from the Roman period (1st-2nd century AD), whose provenance is indicated as the ancient Agora of Corinth .
