U.S. Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey, a prominent Democrat and staunch supporter of Greece, was celebrated today at a luncheon hosted by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. As current chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Menendez is touring Athens and Cyprus, ANA reports.
The meeting, attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexandra Papadopoulou and US Ambassador to Athens George Tsunis, focused on Greek-US relations and the changing dynamics of the wider region.
