Global tourism is making a strong comeback, with all regions recovering faster than expected, according to World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and Oxford Economy data.
Julia Simpson, president and CEO of the World Tourism Network, when she said this today in Rwanda, was referring to Global research on travel and tourism research.

She went on to say today in Kigali for the opening of the 23rd WTTC World Summit:

World Travel and Tourism Council President Arnold Donald for Africa is hosting this year’s Global Summit.
The 23 World Travel and Tourism Council Global Summit 2023 kicks off today in Rwanda, bringing together industry leaders and experts, including our CEO Fawaz Farooquito align efforts to support the industry’s recovery towards a safer, more resilient, inclusive and sustainable future.

Yesterday, we welcomed our sector to World Travel and Tourism Council World summit in Rwanda. Known as the land of a thousand hills, Rwanda perfectly sets the stage for discussions around conservation, as Africa’s leader in sustainable travel.
We kicked off the discussions with our annual Global Leaders Dialogue, focused on investing in sustainable development. This was a great opportunity to hear from the private and public sectors about their experiences and priorities in aligning investments with sustainable practices.
During our opening press conference, Francis GataréCEO of Rwandan Development Board (RDB), WTTC President Arnold Donald and I welcomed delegates to Kigali, setting the stage for what promises to be an incredible three days. I discussed global travel and tourism recovery figures and presented our groundbreaking ESR data.
Tomorrow is shaping up to be a fantastic day as our industry leaders discuss hot topics ranging from the growing role of AI to connectivity to the changing personality of the traveler.
